[Podcast] How Artists Can Create New Collaborative Opportunities Via Twitter

by Dave Charest

From Ottawa to Phoenix: Playwrights create a theatrical double-feature thanks to Twitter.

Why should artists be excited about Twitter?

In a word: Access.

Twitter allows you to make connections with people you never would have had access to before. Within the creative realm this opens up the possibility of collaboration and most importantly can lead to new opportunities.

Allow me to share a Twitter success story with you

Listen in as I speak with playwrights Mare Biddle & Sterling Lynch. These two met on Twitter, developed a friendship and now have their shows being produced at Space 55 in Phoenix, AZ – February 11th – 27th, 2010.

In this giggle fest of a conversation, Mare and Sterling share their story and thoughts on:

  1. Why Use Twitter
  2. Making Connections
  3. Producing a Double Feature of Plays

Listen. Comment. Share.

Thanks so much for organizing this conversation, Dave.

It was a lot of fun and quite helpful in making sense of this little theatrical adventure Mare and I are on.

Hopefully, other folks will take advantage of these new media tools and create similar opportunities and adventures for themselves.

Connect, collaborate, create. All over the world. It’s going to be an incredible ride. :)

Sterling,

So glad we had a chance to do this. Thanks for sharing your story. =)

It really was a fun conversation. One of many more I hope.
