“Dave is terrific. He listens intently to the issues you are dealing with and addresses them directly. He does not offer generalities or think-tank statements. He offers real solutions that you can put to use right away.”

-Mark Lonergan, Artistic Director, ParallelExit.net

I’m Dave Charest. I’m a content marketer and creator of the One-to-Many Method of content creation.

I love using content to build audiences and influence their behavior over time.

My mission here?

To provide, content creators of all kinds, practical advice on creating meaningful content that makes a difference for your business or career and the people you serve.

I’m at my best when I’m passionate about the product, service, or people. And when it’s all three? Forget it. 🙂

That’s why I love working at Constant Contact, where my team and I are focused on providing small businesses and nonprofits practical, step-by-by marketing advice to help them do more business and more for their cause.

We’ve even won a Content Marketing Award for our work in the Best Multi-Author Blog category. And we were also a finalist in the Best Content Strategy category for our work supporting our audience and our business with content marketing.

I love the people I work with — I love the people we help — I love the email marketing tools and services we provide to make it easier and more affordable for our customers to connect with their most valuable asset…their customers.

I’ve also been fortunate enough to speak at Content Marketing World about the craft of content marketing and to continually travel the United States speaking to small businesses about making sense of online marketing.

I follow a simple philosophy:

All good things come from focusing on the people you’re trying to reach and helping them become more successful.

This simple philosophy has allowed me to get what I’ve always wanted from life.

To work hard, love what I do, live comfortably, spend time with family and friends, and enjoy life. All with a smile on my face.

Here’s what I believe:

When you’re doing something you enjoy, you do it to the best of your ability.

I enjoy helping others see the value that a content marketing approach can bring to their work by writing fun, concise, and useful posts as well as ‘Wicked Smaht’ Courses (yes, I’m from Massachusetts).

“Expert” or “guru?” — Hmm…

More like someone who loves to share what I’ve learned with hopes that it’ll help you move forward.

Here’s the deal. Most information out there is boring. Not only is it boring, it’s also riddled with this complicated marketing jargon that, let’s be honest, is just there to make the writer sound smart.

Who has the time to decipher all that B.S.?

If you can’t act on the information, then the information is useless. My goal is to make things simple so you can actually take action and start to see immediate results.

Now that’s ‘Wicked Smaht’ 😉

I love helping do-it-yourself creative types accomplish their goals. Dedicated, smart, nice people.

And if that sounds like you, I’m here to help you embrace content marketing as part of your process, rather than some scary and icky afterthought.

I’ll help you get to moments of “Makeshift Brilliance.” As I learn, I share. Creative, strategic, awesome stuff.

I’ll show you how to create great content that builds an audience so you can build a business or career.

There’s lots of useful information here

Let me know what you like. Or what you don’t. Either way hearing from you makes my day.

Thanks for stopping by!

You can find more of my work on sites like Big Brand System, Business 2 Community, The Business Journals, Constant Contact, and Duct Tape Marketing. And you can catch me as the host of the Small Biz Stories podcast.
