Recently, I took my girls to a Tae Kwon Do birthday party.
I learned a bit about achievement in the process as I was brought up to break a board with my foot.
That’s right. I’m officially badass. 😉
(Yes, there’s a video for you watch below.)
Here’s what else I discovered…
In order to achieve any goal you must be willing to do three things:
- Focus
- Concentrate
- Make mistakes
1. Focus
It’s extremely easy to get distracted nowadays. Unfortunately, distractions don’t help you move toward your goals. Focus does. Focus on one goal at a time instead of spreading yourself thin with other distractions.
2. Concentrate
Once you’ve chosen your goal, concentrate on what you need to do to reach it. Visualize your success. Again, avoid distraction. Concentrate until you hit your mark.
3. Make Mistakes
Even with focus, even with concentration, you’re going to screw something up. It’s okay. Mistakes help you learn faster and truly understand what you’re supposed to do.
Here’s an example for you
Watch this video, as I learn to focus, concentrate and break wood with my foot. You’ll notice that even though I’ve just been told what to do I screw it up right away. But then I get it together and ACHIEVE!
As you set out to achieve your marketing goals for the new year, keep in mind these three points learned at Tae Kwon Do.
What are you going to achieve in 2011?
Frank Dickinson says

Dave Charest says
