In this short video, entrepreneur Guy Kawasaki offers three ways to make meaning in your company.
Take a look. It’s worth the watch.
Did you notice he mentioned the goal is not to make money? I’ve always been a firm believer in if you do what’s right by people the money comes.
It’s about seeking something bigger. Giving someone an experience that affects their lives. When the going gets difficult Kawasaki’s suggestions help to keep you focused on why you’re doing what you do.
Kawasaki’s suggestions:
- Increase the quality of life
- Right a wrong
- Prevent the end of something good
Each a good place to start. And likely focusing on one also brings about the others. Another key to these suggestions is that each is outwardly focused. When you’re stuck in your own head it’s easy to not move forward. This shift puts energies where they should be–on others.
What say you? Does this shift in thinking help you?
